When Dr. Rajesh Kesavan started his podiatry practice in 2005, he was the first and only podiatrist in Chennai. He pioneered podiatry field of medicine and has written a number of papers and trained other doctors in the field of Podiatry.

Early Career

Born in a middle class family on March 11, 1974, Dr. RK is a soft spoken man who excelled in his school education. He did his initial schooling in St. Peters School in Royapuram, Chennai where he ranked school first in his 10th examinations. Later, doing his high school in KC Nadar School in Washermanpet, Chennai, he got selected to pursue his MBBS in Stanley Medical College, Chennai.

Dr. RK got inspired to specialise in Podiatry when he attended a conference in Jaipur conducted by Prof. Arun Bal in 2003. He reached out to Prof. Arun Bal and did a fellowship under him in Podiatric Surgery with special emphasis on Diabetic Foot Surgery. He started his practice as a Podiatrist in 2005 in Kumaran Hospital, Kilpauk, Chennai. He was the first doctor to practise as a Podiatrist in Tamil Nadu.
